Shi Xinning was born on 1969 in Liaoning Province, China. Trained in China, Shi Xinnings paintings are influenced by both social realism and European styles. Using the authoritative qualities of both, Shi embarks on history painting with a twist. Taking his imagery from iconic press photos, Shis canvases faithfully represent the world as we know it, the Yalta Conference in familiar 40s sepia tone, the Queen Mum in carriage emblazoned in newspaper black and white. Its only on second glance that Shis alterations become evident. Nestled between Churchill and FDR and conversing happily with royalty, Mao takes his place amongst the great leaders of the 20th century.
In China-fying history, Shi investigates dynamics of both the wests Eurocentric, and Chinas isolationist past world views. Humorously illustrating the Chairmans import and omnipresence in 20th c Chinese society Shis insertion of Mao into the fabric of western collective conscience seems entirely plausible. Infusing the totems of propaganda currency with a sense of normality and humility, Shi re-authors the most cherished moments of collective memory with a Forrest Gump effect, creating a specious mythology based in Hollywood schmaltz and unabashed optimism.

Balloon Artist San Diego Series- How to make a 2- balloon spiral hat

First of all, its a lot easier to follow the instructions in a video format rather than in a written format. For best results visit my YouTube channel under the channel name Sandiballoon.
Now, having issued that disclaimer, here are the instructions:
1.Take a 260 and inflate it all the way giving it a good burp. Its important that the balloon be mostly inflated. If youre worried about overinflating, then inflate all the way leaving only about a thumbtip size portion uninflated.
2.Twist off a bubble, and HOLD it while you wrap the balloon around head. Find the point where the bubble you are holding and the balloon wrapped around the head criss-cross. Squeeze them together and twist them together. You now have a stick hat.
3.Inflate a second balloon the same way you did for the first. Once again, fully inflate and give a good burp to release the pressure a little.
4.Twist off a small bubble on the nozzle end, and attach it to the small bubble on the hat.
5.Spiral the two sticks together. Its a bit easier if you are sitting down and use your knees hold the hat and stick at the base while you spiral them. It should look a bit like a barber shop pole. When you reach the end of the shorter balloon, squeeze and twist the two balloons together to lock them.
6.Find the center of the hat at the back (directly opposite of the sticks). Pinch the center point and twist ONE SIDE of the hat. This puts an attachment point at the back that will make the next step much easier.
7.Twist a bubble at the end of the free stick. Make sure that you hold onto the bubble until you lock it to the hat.
8.Twist the bubble into the attachment point that you made at the back of the hat. The hat should now have a sort of triangular shape.
9.Take the balloon at the top of the hat, towards the back and give it a little shape by squeezing the air out of the balloon (in that area) and slowly letting it back into that space. This will train the balloon to keep that shape. Play with putting that bend in various places and see the different shaped hats that you get.
10.Place the hat on the head, smile big and take a picture!

Hiring a makeup artist can be nerve wracking. After all, those who need a makeup artist are most likely going to need it for a big event. It could be for a wedding or a photo shoot of some sort and if that’s the case, it’s important to have it done well. The right makeup artist could mean the difference between gorgeous photos and photos that will be a terrible reminder of a terrible day. Those who are going to hire a makeup artist would do well to take a look at the list of interview questions to ask below.

First, a good question to ask would be to ask how long the artist has been doing what he or she has been doing. This will give a good idea of the level of experience they have had. An experienced makeup artist is undoubtedly important. They will be able to handle the pressure better as well as they will be able to predict what types of makeup will be best for certain skin types.

Another good question to ask might be where they have done makeup before. There are very different weather conditions to understand which will affect the products used. Maryland makeup might need to be very different from California makeup, for instance. Some places have more humidity and heat than others and should be dealt with accordingly.

References are incredibly important when hiring anyone for any job. Of course, everyone is going to say good things about themselves regarding their abilities. It’s important, therefore, to check their stories with people who have hired them before. This will help to bring to light any red flags that should be seen and help in predicting if a hiring decision is a good one to make or not.

Flexibility is a good question to ask. After all, many times the stylist in question will be needed on multiple days and at specific times. If they are not easy to get a hold of or are incredibly busy, that may play a determining factor in the ultimate hiring decision. It’s important to get their time commitments nailed down before offering a job. This will ensure that everyone knows what is expected and is able to fulfill the expectations, whatever they may be. Indeed, a novice mistake is to hire a makeup artist and not ask any of the questions mentioned above, first. Those who are thorough in their selection process are those who will most likely end up the happiest of all.

Securing the safety and security of top leaders of countries, celebrities and the rich and famous has never been easy as they are commonly the victims of terror threat, kidnapping and stalking. The nature of their jobs, the position they are into and the money attached to their names and positions pose as temptations to the public. Despite security measures, some well-planned schemes were almost successful, some others were not but a few crimes were really committed into action and proved to be successful for the perpetrators.

Managing celebrity security is the most difficult because of the nature of their profession as it require them to be always on the spotlight and be with a large crowd. They become more vulnerable to threats because of their lifestyles. Despite their status, many try to live as normal as possible like going shopping unaccompanied to the point of risking their lives. We hear over the radio, read on the papers and see on the television and the internet so much about paparazzis sticking their cameras in front of celebrities’ faces and stalking them for days just so to take a photo or two and how celebrities abhor being hounded in this obnoxious fashion. Paparazzi harassment, however, dims in comparison to kidnapping and death threats. Celebrities are always on guard to maintain their safety and of their families taking extraordinary security measures in place at all times to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Taking a kidnap threat seriously against Australian actor Russell Crowe in 2001, the FBI insisted on accompanying him to the Academy Awards just to protect him. The FBI later informed him that the threat came from the Al-Qaeda. It was so fortunate that the plot was discovered before it was really committed. What about those that were literally materialized into action?

In 1985, Julio Iglesias’ father, Julio Iglesias, Sr., was kidnapped by Basque terrorists and held captive for 2 weeks, repeatedly threatened with death but was later rescued by Spanish police unharmed on the day the ransom money was supposed to be release to the kidnappers. Although he was never harmed physically, he was badly traumatized by the incident.

Because of this, the need for security globally has increased. The forecasted expenditure allotted on security services alone, by 2012 is expected at $200 billion.

If it was possible for a digital artist to have heaven on earth, it would revolve around Cintiq 24 HD. Wacom’s new tablet Cintiq 24 HD priced at $2500 proves its worth with the state-of-the-art technology and impressive design used in it. It is the best drawing tool that any designer or artist can get. People who work in Photoshop, Manga Studio , Sketch Book Pro or painter with older Wacom models, this means a better finesse with a gentler touch at 24.1 in wide screen (1920×1200 pixels).

There’s a reason why these tablets are so much in demand- it is the easiest and best way to do a lot of drawing in a very less time with more fluency and efficiency. Wacom’s pressure sensitive tablet technology is overlaid by Cintiq on the tablet monitor that removes the cognitive dissonance of working on a tablet while looking at the screen. The Cintiq 24 HD has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity. It uses two button, wireless, battery-free pen with a rubber grip and a pressure sensitive eraser on the rear end. One of the most useful buttons is the one that calls the on-screen keyboard. A perfect combination of on screen keyboard, side function buttons, and the touch wheel makes it easier to forget physical key board.

Before making a purchase, make sure you have enough room to accommodate this classic yet huge drawing tablet. The flat footprint is 80 x 60cm and depth is 37cm when the screen is fully raised. Also unlike other 18 inch and 21 inch tablets, Cintiq 24 HD does not have a rotating pivot. However, it can be raised to the drawing board angle at any time. Cintiq 24 HD has a glass screen with anti-glare coating which gives a slight yet pleasant resistance to the pen. Calibration, however, can be a small issue like it has been in other Cintiq tablets. The user has to calibrate the cursor to match up with their line of sight as the cursor is a few millimeters below where the pen nib hits the glass. But after a couple of tries, the calibration gets excellent.

The Cintiq 24 HD is worth the money you spend, the space it takes because of the excellent quality of work you get. If you are a digital artist, it is a necessity to enjoy the flawless digital drawing experience.

Popular painter Sarah-Jane Szikora has announced that she is using her artistic abilities to help dementia patients.

The northern artist announced on her personal blog that she is currently involved in the initial stages of designing and refurbishing three dementia wards in Bradford teaching hospitals.

Sarah-Jane said she hopes that her personal experience of dementia through her mother’s illness will help other people who are affected by the condition.

She wrote in her blog: “Through art, I can also use the experience and hopefully turn it into something positive for others. We must always strive to see the brighter side of life amidst the darkness of living. Laughter, after all, is the best medicine.”

The artist is spending less time on producing Sarah-Jane Szikora prints so that she can fully concentrate her efforts on the design and refurbishment project.

Sarah-Jane has called for further investment from potential donors as the scheme is mainly funded by charity and only receives a small amount from the NHS.

She added on her blog: “So what we lack in funds, we must try and make up for in creativity!”

Sarah-Jane recently told the arts and culture journal Fally rag that she hopes that her light-hearted and humorous prints of giant gingerbread man and confectionary characters provide people with happiness.

She told the publication: “The world doesn’t owe you happiness; you must earn it. Get on that journey of self-discovery and change something. Art helped me to be happy, so hopefully by offering my results, I can pass a little bit of that on.”

Sarah-Jane said that she wanted to inspire human warmth and connection through her irreverent artwork as she does not want to add to the despair that some people already experience.

“The world has seen enough misery without Tracy Emin’s dirty knickers thrown in,” she told Fally rag.

Life drawing classes at the Cleveland College of Art inspired Szikora’s passion for illustrating the human body, which she has now evolved to create extreme comedy figures.

People interested in viewing Sarah-Jane Szikora prints will be pleased to know that the artist said that she will soon be revealing the dates of some gallery events taking place in July.

The artist also said on her blog that she had the pleasure of going to an exhibition in Newcastle which displayed Fabian Perez prints.

Sarah-Jane Szikora prints have been displayed in Harrods, Selfridges and several important exhibitions across the United Kingdom.

There are plenty of celebrities who have had cosmetic surgery. Maybe some of your favorite personalities may have gone under the knife too. If they wont admit it through the words that come out of their mouth, the difference in their appearance tells everything. Some of the most famous people in the world of politics, movies or even sports have their own stories and reasons why they decided to have a cosmetic surgery. Here are some of the lists of the celebrities who considered having a cosmetic surgery:

Madonna the queen of pop who was very popular in 1980s for her music, concerts, and movies had several reports of undergoing a cosmetic surgery. A face lift, nose job, chin fix, jaw reduction, and filling injections are few surgical procedures she has had. Her nose also trimmed down a few notches compared before. Her figure remains as natural looking as it always has. Her side initially tried to deny the procedures but the results were hard to cover up.

Marilyn Monroe is an oldie and she has been gone for quite sometime, but she had rhinoplasty surgery sometime between being a brunette and becoming a blonde. She was considered one of the most beautiful women who ever walked the earth. Whats relieving is she may not have achieved the title without some nose and chin work.

Michael Jackson the King of Pop, had a few cheek implants, some jaw redesigning, a lot of nose jobs and some permanent skin lightening techniques. He began investing in nose job during his teen years. He shocked the world when he underwent skin lightening cosmetic surgery for his whole body.

Pamela Anderson is quite obvious with the breast implants and it has been rumored that she has had some work done on her face as well.

Hillary Clinton the wife of former President Bill Clinton has allegedly undergone several cosmetic surgeries. The politician has had eyelid surgery, laser skin resurfacing, filling injections, and neck lifts based on unconfirmed results. Repots also say that Clinton spent a huge sum of money investing in cosmetic procedures to enhance her appearance.

Nicole Kidman nose changed completely. Her surgery is more on the rumor side of things, but she has changed in the past fifteen years or so. She has gotten older, but she is still beautiful.

Victoria Beckham the wife of English soccer icon is still gorgeous although she has had some work done. She reportedly underwent breast implants and lip augmentation. It is quite obvious that she is different from what she used to be.

There are more celebrities who underwent plastic surgeries. The most beautiful faces in the world during the past and present may not be as natural as you think. It seems that more celebrities take the risk just to look better than the rest.
